Gamifying Virtual Production: Claw & Order

About the Project

As part of my CMGT education, I alongside a team of 5 others were tasked with creating a game experience that makes use of the creative tools of a virtual production studio. The project, named Claw & Order, is a detective murder-mystery, in which two players must use the camera and its motion tracking capabilities to identify evidence on a crime scene.

Project Overview

The game combines real-time motion tracking in a virtual space, creating an environment that blends both physical and digital game elements. Using the studio's motion tracking RED camera, we were able to capture dynamic movements and translate them directly into our game environment.

This is what allows the players to interact with the space to pick up clues, or move objects around to uncover evidence. During the project, we had to overcome many technical challenges to create a unique experience that showcases a potential future for game development in virtual production.
